You'll also look at the nail industry in general, and gain an insight into current and upcoming trends. You can charge up to £40 for a set of enhanced nails and with your costs being less than £3 you understand how many Nail Technicians are running a lucrative business by working from home or visiting customers. This is a home learning course, you don't need to go to college or classroom. At the end of the course you'll be able to service your first client and charge your first fee!

Learn how to choose, fit and blend an appropriate nail extension tip. Discover how to mix and activate the products and how to apply it to the different areas of the nail. Examine the critical step of shaping the nails to a perfect profile and finish for each nail shape and size.
Practical Skills
Gain practical experience of applying the above techniques to create fantastic looking nails.

Assessments:
Assessments are a great way of checking your progress. At the beginning of your Acrylic Nails course you will be issued with unique progress cards. As you progress through the course, you will create sample nails, attach these to a progress card, and then send the progress card away for assessment. You will also be required to complete a number of question papers, up to a maximum of eight, which will also be sent away for assessment.
Each nail you submit will be carefully examined, and you will receive a report on your work and a grade of distinction, credit, pass or fail. Should you fail, you will receive suggestions on how you might improve your work, and you will be able to submit work for reassessment for free.

Course dates and times:
This is a distance learning course, so it runs throughout the year. You study at your own pace in your free time.
Qualification and Insurance:
The course is nationally recognised within the nail industry and accredited with the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists and Professional Beauty Direct, allowing you to obtain public liability insurance cover for treatments on paying clients.
On successful completion of the course an Essential Nails Diploma certificate will be issued and a photocopy of this will be required by the insurance company to process your insurance cover.
As a member of the Guild you will be able to use the letters ‘MGPBT’ after your name when advertising yourself. You will also receive a Guild membership certificate to display in your treatment area. Guild logo artwork can be requested for use on business stationary and marketing material, and Guild badges are also available to purchase, which show your clients that you are a trained professional.
The courses also accepted for insurance inclusion with Professional Beauty Direct who also provide professional membership and insurance cover for working in industry.
Passing the course, entitles you to automatic membership of 'Aspire', a club for qualified Nail Technicians. Aspire members enjoy 20% discount on Dream Nail Products, access to business help and special offers.

Working Part time, 10 hours a week
4 clients x £35 per set of nails = £140 per week
£140 x 4 weeks = £520 per month
£520 x 12 months = £6250 per annum *
Working Full time, 40 hours a week
4 clients a day x £35 = £140
5 days x £140 per day = £620
£620 x 4 = £2480 per month
£2,480 x 12 =£29,760 per annum*
