Paediatric First Aid Course.

The Paediatric First Aid course is designed to train individuals to provide immediate first aid care to toddlers and babies.

The course meets the first aid requirements of Ofsted for the Early Years Foundation Stage standards, the National Childminding Association, the Pre-School Learning Alliance, and the Department for Children, Schools and Families Surestart guidelines for Paediatric First Aid.

This course will provide first aid skills necessary to manage an infant/child that is not breathing normally, is unconscious, bleeding or is ill or injured prior to the arrival of the emergency services.

This course duration is 12 hourse split into two Saturday sessions. It also meets the recommendations of the HSE Health and Safety at Work (1981) Regulations for Appointed Persons in the Workplace. This course also meets the first aid requirements of the Department for Children, Schools and Families for First Aid in Schools

Paediatric First Aid Courses are very rare and hard to find. This courses is run by a professional and registered first aid trainer over two days (Saturdays) in Tunbridge Wells. It covers all baby ,child and adult related first aid ( mainly baby/child).

Refreshments provided but own lunch to be brought.

Assessment: Knowledge and skills assessment. Students are assessed throughout the course by instructor observation of the essential skills. Students will practice the essential skills in small groups and will apply these skills in scenario sessions during the course.
