Hi there!
I'm Ben and I recently graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a BSc (Hons) Chemistry with Management Degree. I have spent the last four years studying a vast number of chemistry topics, developing a solid scientific foundation as well learning about the techniques at the forefront of technology. But more importantly, I have the skills required to tutor you and help you achieve in Chemistry. Looking back now to my time in secondary school, I can honestly say that Chemistry was one of the most challenging subjects that I studied (and I took 7 highers and 2 advanced highers!) however with the right attitude, it can also be one of the most fun and exciting subjects. As your tutor, I will endeavour to impart my passion for Chemistry on you and help you reach your potential.
While I have not taught in the classroom, I have a wealth of experience working with children of all ages as a Scout Leader. I understand the adaptability and patience required to teach children effectively. I also understand the need to make learning interactive and creative to keep it interesting.
My approach is tailored to your needs.
If you are looking for help over the period of a course, then we can sit down together to develop a structured plan with set milestones to measure your achievements by.
Perhaps it is the case that you just need help with the occasional difficult topic - this is no problem, I understand how useful it can be to have something explained in a new and different way. Or maybe you would just like someone to be there to help while you complete homework or assignments.
I know how stressful exam time can be and would be happy to help you attempt pastpapers and mark your efforts.
