Maths Tuition - MATHEMANTICS

No need for expensive private tutors - teach your children yourself using Mathemantics. Mathemantics is a fantastic week by week course for primary school aged children in Key stages 1 and 2. The course is modular and designed for study at home with the help of a parent. The course augments the mathematics learned in schools whilst providing remedial and additional aid for those struggling or lacking confidence in mathematics. The course is an excellent basis for home schooled maths. Mathemantics will teach you and your child the modern methods of calculation used in primary school including multiplying in grids, division by subtraction, using a number line and partitioning. Mathemantics will also give you the opportunity to teach your children the traditional ways of calculation that you were probably taught yourself and that are no longer taught in primary schools. Mathemantics will allow your child to understand maths but will also allow your child to learn 'cheats' and quick ways of calculating that have been taught for years: for example multiplying by 10 by simply adding a zero - a fact that is simply not allowed to be voiced in primary school classrooms these days! At the begining of each level, a video tutorial provides all the instructions needed to complete the level and at the end, an assessment is undertaken to ensure that the child is ready to move on to the next stage. Year 1 children should start the course at Grade 1 level 1, older children should use the initial assessment to find out which levels of study they should join. Each module costs £3.00 and it is recommended that not more than four modules be studied per month.
