Make a Wildlife Mosaic!

1.30-3.30pm. Join us to celebrate the coming of Spring! Make a Mosaic Plaque using a colorful mix of recycled pottery and tiles. £7.50 per maker. Please see Brockholes booking info below.

Supervised children aged 8 to adults welcome. Please note, spaces are limited on this class, so book early. Explore the use of mixed media and create a personalised mosaic mirror. We will be working with techniques for cutting, laying, and grouting tesserae (pieces such as tiles and pottery) to make something to reflect on!
The options are many, as you can:
- Work with charms including bronze keys to add a steam punk feel. Steampunk is a science-fiction genre based in Victorian England and can have a sentimental, as well as a steam power feel with brass fittings and steel gizmos. You may also want to bring personal mementos like broken jewellery, watch parts, etc. and see how they may work with your mosaic.
- Focus on the textures and patterns of ceramic tiles and pique assiette. Pique assiette is a style of mosaic that uses pieces of broken ceramics such as pots into the design
- Incorporate other items like charms, shells, and glass nuggets
The price is £30 (£25.50 concessions) including materials and car parking. Dichroic glass is also available to buy on the day.
