MOSIAC COURSES a day out near Cambridge

mosaic courses
Making a mosaic requires little more than patience, a eye for design and the ability to draw an outline. Indeed, you do not even need to be able to draw - the beautiful materials do most of the work. Just a few simple principles to learn which makes the process easier and more fun.
Our popular courses have been running for over three years, they are friendly and informal and take place twice a month in Sewards End Village Hall, near Saffron Walden, in Essex (see map on website contacts page). The workshops are run by Anne Cardwell and Gill Howe, two professional mosaic artists (and coincidently neighbours!). The classes are in small groups of about ten to fifteen students, the age range being age 14 (with advance notice) and upwards, the ability range being from beginner to more advanced - why not learn a new technique, making a slab or an indirect mosaic.
Do either a ONE day course - or book TWO days and qualify for a discount, see bookings. The choice is up to you. Students normally produce one piece of work in a day - although if you decide on something more ambitious you may hire/buy nippers and you will take materials with you, so you can finish your project at home.
See the student’s gallery for inspiration.

”wonderful, I don’t consider myself especially creative and I can’t believe what I succeeded in making - great value for money - thank you”

‘”tonnes of choice of materials and lots of help and ideas from Anne and Gill made it a most
enjoyable experience”
