Learn to build web pages using Macromedia Dreamweaver.

Every Sunday (subject to numbers), 1 day Web Design courses will be held at Leith Academy. The course will be run by an independent training company who use qualified, experienced tutors.

The day begins at 930am and finishes at 4pm.

The cost will be £75 (usual price £120).

The course will include:

How a web page works - try some HTML coding using notepad

Getting your site online - setup your domain name and hosting service to get your site online

The Dreamweaver workspace - introduction to the dreamweaver tools used in web development

Defining a website - setting up the website structure (local and remote site)

Add web pages and setup your home page

Create a site map

Head content - the settings used for search engine optimisation

Create a text navigation bar

Add an email link and using java switches

Adding a date object

Cascading style sheets - create, apply and edit CSS

Insert, edit, enhance and align graphics

Create external and internal links and add links to named anchors

Add flash text for linking to

Create an navigation bar using images

Use a table for page layout (text and graphics) - working with cells, rows and columns

Collecting data with online forms - setting up a form and adding form objects

Some multimedia add-ons - flash animation, flash movies, other flash media (such as galleries), embedding video

Behaviours - adding a rollover effect, creating a popup message, play sounds, show/hide layers

How do you access a working version of dreamweaver?

Included in the price of this course will be the training material and a guide to accessing a working version of the design package so that you can quickly get up and running at home.

As this is an intensive course, you will need to have a relatively good knowledge of computing i.e. be able to use windows explorer (copy/paste files, createcopy folders) and also be able to work generally with files i.e. open/close/save.
